Hotel SØMA Ilulissat has an open position as hotel assistant
As hotel assistant you’ll mainly be working at the hotel. You’ll get a thorough induction in the everyday work at the hotel and will be a part of all positions and tasks. It is also expected that you will be used as a service employee who will do practical jobs.

Task examples:
Breakfast
- Morning duty, where you take care of the breakfast restaurant, do the dishes and keep the restaurant nice and tidy, followed by cleaning and quality control
Cleaning
- Cleaning duty, where the rooms is cleaned. The rooms have to be cleaned, when the guests has left, so new guests can move in. At rooms where the guests are staying, it must be ensured that the room is ok and clean.
Administration
- Responsible for internal activities, reception jobs, ordering soft drinks and tobacco as well as picking up supplies at the warehouse. Facebook and Instagram updates as well as answering emails and other administration like stock counting, follow up, etc.
Practical jobs
- Picking up supplies at the warehouse, snow removal, cleaning, delivery of food, transfer of guests as well as maintenance of our premises.
Conference and tourism
- Act as conference host and from time to time as guide on simple tourist activities.

 

Formal qualifications
- A good command of English, driver’s license B, high school or similar level education, knowledge of Microsoft Office and preferably work experience from the service industry.

 

Personal qualifications
- Open and honest approach. Good cooperation and relational skills. Good role model and with a personal belief in God. Good to create overview and filled with courage and an open mind.

 

Framework
- Working hours will vary with morning, day and evening duties. We plan at least two weeks. Weekend and holiday work will occur. Weekly workload is 40 hours, but some degree of flexibility is expected.
- The position is from 16. February to app. 30. November 2022.
The position as hotel assistant is for you, who wants to take up the challenge with a full-time job abroad and who wants to develop yourself in a safe and Christian environment. The position is considered a real job, where you will be able to gain knowledge and competencies, which can be used in your resume.
